The Indiana Tech Keene Building (formerly the Law School) is an experiential learning environment, drawing upon the knowledge of the past and utilizing the technology of the future to provide a superior education for the 21st century student. The design concept exemplifies these traits by applying traditional materials in contemporary forms that align with the traditions of the campus.
The building’s initial standards stood as an academic facility housing a law school. This representation held a mock courtroom and other attributes that possessed features that resonated a stately appearance.
The Keene Building anchors the growing campus towards the heart of downtown and serves as an iconic building clad in traditional materials of brick and stone. The building houses a two-story seminar room, student life spaces on the third floor, a three-level Library, collaborative classrooms, corporate engagement center, Admissions, and a Dean’s Suite which are all inter-connected by a linear three-story “spine” of faculty offices and common spaces. Student lifestyle spaces are activated throughout the facility to foster interaction between students, faculty, and staff further enhancing the benefit of this learning environment.
In 2018, the University completed some upgrades and renovations to the existing facility and changed the name to more commonly reflect its new current intention. With a mix of growing programs like distance learning and the Ph.D. in Global Leadership, the Keene Building’s bones provided great structure with minimal changes to continue it’s pursuit in providing students a professional education, career advancement and motivation in life.
