All About Brian Bracht, Elevatus Architectural Graduate

During his time with Elevatus, Brian Bracht has been involved in some pretty memorable projects, events, and honors.

He’s designed impressive buildings and solved complex issues for clients. He’s a key player in a firm with a national presence.

But Brian’s lasting Elevatus impression?

“The Greenway cleanups,” he says without pause.

Elevatus is a proud supporter of Adopt-A-Greenway, a program where organizations agree to adopt a two-mile section of the Fort Wayne Regional Trails network and, a few times a year, folks with the organization will go out and collect trash and debris along the path.

“It’s nice,” he explains, “getting everyone together to go out. Hopefully in the future I can get back out to help again.”

That’s Brian Bracht. He’s helpful, kind, courteous, reverent.

He’s a Scout, after all, and it’s Scout Law. But Brian’s more than that.

Brian’s actually an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouts that only 4 percent achieve. He accomplished the honor in 2012.

We dug into the characteristics of an Eagle Scout. The Scouting.org website says Eagle Scouts excel in planning and preparation. They’re goal-oriented and are natural leaders. They’re charitable. They thrive in relationship.

That’s Brian Bracht. And those characteristics are a few of the reasons he’s an outstanding Architectural Graduate.

“It’s always something interesting,” Brian says about what he enjoys about the industry. “(I enjoy) interfacing with clients and trying to interpret what they want and what they need. I like seeing the project from start to finish, and working in architecture, we have a direct impact on pretty much everyone’s life, indirectly and directly.”

Brian first found an interest in architecture in high school, when he was introduced to the Project Lead The Way STEM curriculum. In the classes, Brian learned about modeling and had access to design applications.

From there, Brian attended Ball State University, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In his master’s work, Brian’s thesis project involved the design of a net-zero skyscraper.

That tracks, doesn’t it?

Brian found Elevatus thanks to some of our best marketing and recruiting work: the firm designed the Fulton County Jail located a stone’s throw from his parent’s house.

“I drove by that every time I’d visit my parents,” he says.

Now, Brian is part of the Mixed-use, Retail, and Hospitality division at Elevatus. He works heavily on superstore renovation design, and currently, the design of a new corporate hangar at Fort Wayne International Airport – his favorite project to date.

Why that project specifically? Brian says he values the relationships he’s forged with the Owner and Construction Manager.

That’s Brian Bracht.
