Elevatus welcomes veteran educator, administrator Mark Snyder to propel Education Market growth

For nearly three decades, Mark Snyder has “always put kids first.” As a teacher, then in administrative roles, and more recently as a Director of Business with Southwest Allen County Schools, he’s carried an unwavering belief: the decisions he makes should always serve students first.

Now, he’s bringing that same passion and dedication to Elevatus, joining as Project Executive of Education with a mission to create learning spaces that truly make a difference.

Transitioning from the role of school administrator into architecture might seem like a leap, but for Mark, it feels like coming full circle.

“I am excited to still work with school personnel to help them provide excellent experiences for staff and students, just in a different capacity from the past 28.5 years,” he says. “I am also excited for the opportunity to help grow not only myself and my skills, but also Elevatus within the education community.

“I look forward to further building relationships not only with schools personnel but with also with various partners to provide great experiences and facilities for children in schools.”

Mark’s journey to Elevatus is one marked by a love for schools and the people who make them a second home for so many kids. After serving as CFO, teacher, and principal over the years, he’s developed an extraordinary understanding of what a school truly needs to inspire, nurture, and support the children who walk its halls.

What attracted Mark to Elevatus was more than just our projects; it was our shared purpose. He says he saw in Elevatus a partner with a reputation for listening to educators and crafting environments that bring out the best in students and teachers alike.

“I bring a great deal of experience looking through the lens of a school, and the opportunity to still work with schools and maintain current relationships and create new ones drives me,” Mark says.

With a meticulous mind honed through years of budgeting for school districts, overseeing departments, and guiding financial decisions, Mark brings not only expertise but a deep empathy for the people inside the buildings we design.

With Elevatus, he’s eager to merge that knowledge with a designer’s vision, aiming to create schools that go beyond walls and windows — they’re spaces filled with possibility.

But there’s more to Mark than numbers and blueprints. Outside of work, he’s a DIY enthusiast, building and tinkering at home, keeping fit through Jiu-Jitsu, and supporting his kids as they pursue their passions in wrestling and show choir. His commitment to both his family and his work gives him a unique perspective, one that will undoubtedly shape his contributions to Elevatus.
