Elevatus, FWCS officials break ground for the Levan R. Scott Academy Addition Project

Elevatus Architecture broke ground alongside Fort Wayne Community Schools officials and community leaders to mark the beginning of a new chapter for the Levan R. Scott Academy school located in southeast Fort Wayne. The school will undergo an addition project slated to be complete in 2024, pending construction progress.

Elevatus Architecture and construction manager Weigand Construction were selected to more than double the existing building’s square footage and enhance the building’s character by means of  new building materials installments. Additions will include new classroom spaces, media center, cafeteria, collaboration spaces, administrative suite, music and art rooms, playgrounds, parent pick-up drive through, and parking. Changes to the exterior components aim to pay homage to the existing building’s character respectively.

Levan R. Scott Academy opened in 1955 and was renamed in 2000 for Dr. Levan R. Scott, who served Fort Wayne Community Schools for 28 years.
